…and he sat with them.

A trauma-informed home in Miami for survivors of of sexual exploitation. where safety is secured, agency is honored, and dignity is never earned.
Who We Are
SARID’s ethical framework guides every expression of care we provide. Rooted in trauma-informed practice, it shapes how we design space, offer support, and protect agency.
-

Safety Secured
Physical and emotional safety come first.
No urgency, funding goal, or spiritual intention overrides protection. Stability precedes everything. -

Agency Empowered
Choice is not conditional. Survivors determine pace, participation, and next steps. Care is offered, never imposed.
-

Rest Honored
Rest is not a reward, it is a right. Nothing is required before regulation.
The nervous system matters. Healing does not begin under pressure. -

Integrity Without Agenda
There is no hidden leverage.
No recruitment disguised as care.
Support is not exchanged for belief, loyalty, or compliance. -

Dignity Preserved
Worth is not earned, tested, or revoked.
Survivors are not defined by what happened to them. Every person carries inherent value.
Our Why
SARID was born out of both heartbreak and resolve, most vividly embodied in the story of Leila, a young woman whose disappearance and exploitation revealed a painful truth: survivors of sexual exploitation are often unseen, unheard, and underserved, even in our own communities. Her story reminds us that behind every statistic is a life, and behind that life are relationships, family, hope, and the possibility of healing.
This is happening here.
Florida consistently ranks among the top states in the nation for reported human trafficking cases. Many of those identified are minors.
Sexual exploitation is a present and ongoing reality in Miami. Tens of thousands of individuals are affected in Florida each year.
SARID was founded in response to this local need, to create a place where survivors are not rushed, leveraged, or defined by what happened to them.
